A birthday card & the STROMSVIGT "12 in '14 challenge for May

Hey there,

How's this year's NSD been for you?
Did you find time to scrap?

Unfortunately my day was different to what I had planned,
so I only created a card for a 50th birthday of a friend.
I used my beloved Silhouette Cameo & I know why I LOVE it.

And now I'm showing you what I did with all the punched out circles I showed on Instagram

The prompt Nina gives us this month for the "12 in '14 challenge" is to use WASHI.
I didn't want to use it the normal way, so i used a sheet of printer paper, washi tape & punched out many different sizes of circles (plus some from matching paper). I was inspired by the picture i used - a little branch overgrown with circle shaped lichen - and recreated a similar shape on the background paper with the circles.

When i had laid them all out on my background I thought that something was missing, so i put them all aside again and mixed some matching acrylic colors & splattered them on the background.

Then I glued everything down.

Added some enamel dots...

and some of my beloved STROMSVIGT stamps.

I really LOVE these prompts Nina gives us each month!
I hope you feel inspired, too, & if you create something,
hop over to Nina's blog & enter it for a chance to win something!

Have a great week!

"STROMSVIGT" NSD bloghop

Hey there,

welcome to the "STROMSVIGT" NSD bloghop!

For NSD 2014 we've each prepared a "Spring" project for you!

Here's mine:

A springy card, using different "STROMSVIGT" stampsets (Yes, the little flowers i "sprinkled" on the background are made with the asterisk-stamp from the "NEA-alpha"-set!) and a some other stuff to complete this card.

I tucked stamped & handcut leaves under the top layer and added a bit of green thread under them.

Love these orange sequins used as "flowers" (;

I hope you liked my little project. If you like you can hop over to my DT-colleague Magdalena and to Nina's blog to see their take on the "spring" theme.

(psssst,... on Nina's blog you might even find a chance to win one of her new stamps. My favorite is btw. this Constellation stamp that you find in the "STROMSVIGT" etsy shop!)

I HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT NSD!

12 in '14 challenge - April - Grid design

HEY there!

I'm back to show you this month's installment of the "12 in '14 challenge" for April - this month's prompt is: Grid design.

Nina challenged US (her DT) & challenges YOU to create your version and if you enter yours on her blog you can EVEN WIN A PRIZE!! So - GO & CREATE!!! (;

And here is my take on this prompt:

It's grid & breaking the rules...
THAT'S why I am a graphic designer... i LOVE following AND breaking the rules!!!! (;

Here are some detail shots:

I used the "Studio Calico" "sugar rush"-kit that we received in Paige Taylor-Evans class and also took the inspiration for this layout from her class. (I'll show the stuff i created last weekend in separate posts!)
And I even used that awkward Lolly...WOHOOO! (((;

I used the "Nea Alpha" and the typewriter "love" stamp ("The Good Stuff" set) from the "STROMSVIGT" shop, as well as some Heidi Swapp stamps and the Amy Tangerine "Plus One" embossing folder and die-set!

I hope you all like it and maybe you feel inspired by my layout or those of Nina and Magdalena and you create a layout inspired by this as well and ENTER HERE!?

Have a wonderful day!!!

"12 in '14"-challenge no. 3 - OMBRÉ

Next month  -  next challenge!

This month Nina challenged us to create a layout under the prompt: OMBRÉ!

And here is my take on it:

I dared to play with paint again - and this time: I JUST LOVE IT!
Because it was not THAT messy? yes! (;
I had intended to go from black in the top right corner to white in the
bottom left corner, but after finishing the background
I thought that looked lame... so i turned it 180 degrees and
VOILÀ - it was muuuuch better.
Then I had the idea of using labels in different colors and shapes
and so I played with them until they were where they are now.
The second to last step was getting out all of my Stromsvigt stamps, finding
all kinds of words I liked for this layout and stamping them on
or next to the labels.
Finally I added the title. I knew it had to be big...and small...
so I got out these vintage puffy thickers and wrote out my title.
Here you can see that they are polka-dotted (;
 And to balance it out I added the subtitle with these tiny alpha stickers
by October Afternoon in the top right corner.
What do you think about it?
Now it's your turn.
Hop over to Nina's blog to see the other girls' take on this challenge
AND participate to have a chance to win! (;

SEE YA!
