A layout about my newest possession! (;

A PAIR OF KEEN-SHOES!

I can remember, that when my boyfriend bought his first Keens, I thought "Oh, these are ugly!"
I never wanted to try some, although he told me they were sooooo comfortable and while out in the woods geocaching I would never ever want to wear something else after trying them!
A few years went by... and wearing my teva-sandals I hurt my toes more than once... ); I'm known for tripping over my own feet! (; (By the way, that's why my blog's name is "Schrottvögelchen" - a pet name for somebody who is a bit clumsy/hamfisted).

So - to cut the long story short:
Last August  - when the boy asked, what I wanted for my birthday present - I told him, that I wanted some "girlier" Keens!
We looked online, during our holiday in the UK we looked in every sports-shop in London and Southern England - NOTHING.
So we finally ordered them online beginning of January.
And now I have some GREEN KEENS - and I already love them! (; (;
No, no - men are never right! (;

And here's the layout I did yesterday - my first LO with a photo something different than a person!
And it uses only papers from the January Studio Calico kits that I bought, plus: Fiskars cloud punches, Studio Calico's Mister Huey white, a piece of wood (yes I know - not archivally safe (;), Bazzil pompom ribbon, green American Crafts ribbon from their Travel paper kit, Cosmo Cricket Mr. Campy Rubbons - AND the shoe-wrapping paper for the background and a quality check sticker peeled from the shoe box.

Journaling (along the sides of the picture) translates roughly like that:
"I've always hated sandals - i never liked to wear them - i practically never did
- but my Keens - I already love them dearly!"
Love it! (;

I have to show something to you.
Beginning of last year I bought a glas of mustard which had a sticker on it,
that you had to peel off, send it to the company to receive a little book with recipes.
That was the theory.
In reality I never heard back from them...
So in June 2010 I filled in a online form on their website complaining
that I had never received my cook-book - and I saved a screenshot of this form.
And never heard back from them...
So with my OLW in my head (CHANGE) I set up another email 2 weeks ago,
complaining about customer service and how sad this made me.
The next day I received a reply from a young junior product manager,
who wrote excuses and offered me to send the booklet to me if I gave her my address.
AND THIS IS WHAT ARRIVED YESTERDAY:
A letter, not one BUT TWO booklets and two BIG tubes of their mustard! (;
Now I'm okay with it again! (;
And man: I LOVE THEIR BITING HOT MUSTARD!!! (;

Mein erster Blog-Award!

Erstelle einen Post, indem du das Liebster-Blog-Bild postest;
* Danach überlegst du dir 3- 5 Lieblingsblogs,
die du ebenfalls in deinem Post verlinkst;

WELCOME 2011!

I resolved to not let me get stopped from blogging by my daily duties this year!

My poor Blog has been neglected so much! );

I PROMISE TO DO BETTER THIS YEAR!
(I'd love to have more regular readers,
but therefore I need to post more often, right!?) (;

My word for 2011 is "Veränderung/change" - and I hope that I
can hold to that in many areas of my life - keeping my blog
updated is one of these things!
I want to thank Sarah, who showed me by commenting on
my very last post recently (dating from June 2010) that there are people
who visit my blog from time to time and who see it when I post updates!
And I want that they have something to see!!!

So: When you scroll down you'll see a flashback of posts
that should've been posted during the past 7 months...);
AND THEN - I TRY TO POST AGAIN REGULARLY!!!
Because there's something to post all the time!

See you soon!

London-Album

With the prints of our London trip from
29.12.2004 to 4.1.2005
it was the same as with the Sweden prints:
They lay safe in their envelopes in my photo-box.
End of December I had already made sure that they
were in the correct order and this week I sat down to put
them on the pages and build the albumcover.

HERE IT IS
 The cover is nearly completely decorated with stuff from
various "Studio Calico" kits, add-on kits and other stuff
ordered from their shop (like the label punch).
For the insides I even used the paper from their stamp-packaging
that I couldn't throw away, when I put my clearstamps in folders (see below).

 There are far more pages in this album, but enough is enough!
Another finished album! YAY!!!
I'm working my way through the piles of prints!
I'll sure use some of the photos on regular 30x30cm layout-pages,
but it feels good to finally have the vacation "filed"!

As mentioned above - I have filed my clear-stamps, too!
And I love it!
Before I had to dig in my stamp boxes to search for the ones
I wanted to use and now I only have to go through the pages of the file folder!
Saves at least 50% of the time if not 75%!
LOVE IT!!!

The Sweden-Album-Box

I had originally planned to fill a regular
Scrapbooking Album with this wonderful holiday memories.
But the years went by and the prints still lay in my photobox.
So when I had a few days of time in November I sat down
and started a Din-A5-Album...but during the process of
filling this first album I realized that I would need more
room for all the photos I wanted to be saved!
So I prepared 2 more... (;
And having 3 finished mini-books brought me to the conclusion
that these 3 needed a place where they were together - safe!
So I also built their HOME! (;
And here is the finished box!

...I stamped the handmade stamp upside down...(;
 The 3 of them in their little house! (;
 They are marked in the correct order! (;
 And here are a few of the inside pages!
 I painted my own Dalarna-horse! (;
 As you can see - WE'RE CRAZY!! (;
 The piece of handmade paper peeking out from the envelope
is made of winter-elk-poo! (;
(which is not as bad as it sounds, because their winter-poo contains a
very high percentage of cellulose because they only eat veggies!)
LOVE IT!
